GETC has proudly delivered another impressive student accommodation project—partnering with LU Simon builders to supply Deakin’s exciting new multi–storey development on the thriving geelong waterfront.

Our local project teams worked closely with the facility operator—Deakin University—and the architect NettletonTribe, during the sampling stages to precisely match the project specifications provided, ensuring we achieved an outstanding level of quality on the delivered items.

The Joinery package specified a vast range of finishes and item types for the 11 storey complex—including; the reception and common areas, complete kitchens, banquette seating, TV units, cupboards, robes & study desks with overhead shelving.

The unique U-shaped design of the building appropriated the need for multiple configurations of apartment kitchens to create symmetry across each wing and ensure continuity with the architect’s original design intent.

Alongside acquiring the complete Joinery package for the complex, GETC also was awarded a generous proportion of the loose-fit Furniture and FF&E for the project.

Supplying tables—matched to Joinery finishes—and task chairs for the student apartments and cluster kitchens, in addition to the common area and outdoor lounge items—games tables, highback lounges & stools, to name a few.

Great effort and close consultation with the client was again exercised to ensure the specific requirements of the Furniture specification were satisfied—from the grade of upholstery types through to the powder coated steel & timber stain finishes—with every item meticulously matched.

Thorough planning & scheduling were critical throughout the manufacturing and project delivery phases—with all items palletised and packed in individual cartons with intuitive labelling according to room numbers, ensuring coherence with installation crews.

As Deakin advanced the project timeline to achieve completion in time for the beginning of the 2018 academic calendar, our crews worked expeditiously through the holiday season to guarantee delivery, without compromise.
