GETC collaborated once again with Kane Constructions to deliver the complete room and common area joinery packages for Iglu’s flagship $60 million, 374-bed Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) facility, located on Melbourne CBD’s vibrant Russell Street.
The 374-bed facility offers a diverse array of room types, including studios, twin rooms, and cluster arrangements, catering to various student needs. GETC’s role encompassed the manufacture, delivery, and installation of comprehensive joinery and stone packages across both the private rooms and bespoke communal areas. Partnering once again with the renowned design team at Bates Smart, GETC contributed to realising a dynamic and contemporary design vision.
This vision incorporated a rich variety of materials and finishes specified throughout the 29-story building, such as laminate, timber veneer, custom-fabricated steel components, upholstered furnishings, and an array of reconstituted, natural, and terrazzo stone surfaces.
Every phase, from design to prototyping, manufacturing, delivery, and final installation, was executed in close collaboration with all project stakeholders, ensuring the facility was not only visually stunning but also robustly designed to meet the demands of a bustling student environment.
The GETC team is proud to have delivered another state-of-the-art PBSA facility, exemplifying the power of global collaboration and attention to detail.
