Following numerous successfully delivered student accommodation projects in the previous few years, GETC was contacted in mid–2017 to supply the complete apartment & common area Furniture packages for both 25 & 13 storey towers within UniLodge’s new Buranda facility.

The extensive loose-fit Furniture and FF&E package for the project stipulated the supply of over 1,600 interior spaces, with tables—matched to Joinery finishes—lounge seating, bedding, bins and task chairs, games tables, highback lounges and stools, among the vast collection of items.

The interior spaces incorporated a distinct range of uses for the complex, from the student apartments, study areas, common and outdoor lounge areas, though to the office and reception areas. Items in each of the respective spaces required close consideration to the design and ergonomics to ensure compatibility with the final intended use.

Project teams worked closely with the facility operator, UniLodge, architect Woods Bagot and developer Wee Hur, during the initial sampling and matching stages of the project, precisely meeting the Furniture specifications provided to guarantee an exceptional level of quality on delivered items.

Extensive deliberations with the client were undertaken to ensure the specific requirements of the Furniture specification were satisfied—with timber stain finishes, powder coating and grades of upholstery all examined & matched.

Immense effort from site management & project teams throughout all stages of the project ensured deliveries coincided seamlessly with the builder’s schedules—vigilantly overseeing the quality control, installation and placement processes.

Careful planning and scheduling were critical throughout the manufacturing and delivery phases—with all items packaged and palletised in individual cartons including regimented labelling according to room numbers, ensuring coherence with installation crews.
