GETC's Commitment
to Sustainability
and Corporate Responsibility

At GETC Group, sustainability is not just a priority — it is woven into the fabric of everything we do.  As a leader in the building supply manufacturing industry, we recognise the profound impact our operations have on the environment, communities, and future generations.  This understanding drives our unwavering commitment to being a catalyst for positive change, both locally and globally.

Within this policy, we clearly define our comprehensive approach to corporate responsibility.  By integrating sustainable practices into every facet of our operations, we strive to minimise our environmental footprint, enhance social well-being, and uphold the highest standards of ethical governance.  We are dedicated to aligning our growth with the global movement towards sustainable development, ensuring that our success contributes to a better, greener, and more equitable world.

This document serves as a roadmap for our sustainability journey.  It outlines our commitments to environmental stewardship, social equity, and ethical business practices, providing a clear framework for achieving our goals while inspiring collaboration with our stakeholders to create a more sustainable future for all.

The initiatives we’re Building Today with Tomorrow in Mind

Inclusive Workforce Initiatives

At GETC, we believe diversity is both a moral responsibility and a competitive advantage that fuels innovation and long-term success

We are committed to creating pathways for women through targeted recruitment, mentoring, and professional development, empowering them to thrive in our organisation and across the industry. By breaking down barriers and fostering inclusivity, we are building a culture where every employee feels valued and supported.

Our dedication extends beyond internal policies to our work with communities, suppliers, and partners, ensuring our workforce reflects the diverse communities we serve. By championing equity and inclusivity, GETC is setting a benchmark for excellence and shaping a future where opportunities are shared by all.

Indigenous Workforce Initiatives

At GETC, we proudly champion employment equity by fostering meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal communities in construction, manufacturing, and project supply.

Through partnerships with Aboriginal-owned businesses like Yarra Contracting, we support sustainable economic participation while promoting cultural heritage and community-led growth. By integrating these enterprises into our supply chain, we deliver stronger projects and create lasting benefits for prosperity, independence, and self-determination.

Beyond transactions, we build relationships founded on respect and trust, providing pathways for employment, training, and professional development. For us, this commitment is both a responsibility and a privilege — shaping inclusive opportunities and a brighter future for all.

Mattress Recycling Initiative

At GETC, we are driving sustainability through our mattress recycling program, in partnership with an industry leader accredited by the Australian Bedding Stewardship Council, with over 13 years’ experience recycling nearly four million mattresses and diverting 73,000 tonnes of waste from landfill.

Our program focuses on maximising resource recovery and supporting a circular economy. Steel from mattress springs is reused in manufacturing, foam layers are transformed into carpet underlay, timber is recycled into mulch, engineered products or processed fuel, and textiles are redirected into renewable energy or industrial applications. Where possible, base frames are also repurposed to create new bed bases.

Using our proprietary Feathertop system, material weights are tracked through certified weighbridges, providing transparent diversion reports for customers. By breaking down each mattress into steel, foam, timber, and textiles, GETC reduces landfill waste and ensures these resources are reintroduced into valuable new uses — reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.
