UniLodge Kensington Wins APSAA 2025 Sustainability Award

A WIN FOR SUSTAINABILITY
& STUDENT LIVING: CONGRATULATIONS TO
OUR KENSINGTON UNILODGE
PROJECT PARTNERS

We are proud to share that the Kensington Student Accommodation project has been recognised with the APSAA 2025 Sustainability Excellence Award. Designed by nettletontribe for Cedar Pacific and operated by UniLodge, this landmark development sets a new benchmark for sustainable student living in Australia.

The project achieved recognition through its strong sustainability framework, including a 5-Star Green Star target, integration of over 5,000 smart sensors connected to the PEAK Platform for real-time energy optimisation, and initiatives spanning waste diversion, sustainable transport planning, and improved indoor environmental quality. Collectively, these measures reflect a genuine commitment to environmental responsibility and resident wellbeing.

As furniture partner, GETC was proud to support these outcomes by supplying durable, sustainable and resident-focused furniture solutions. Our products were selected to align with the project’s long-life, low-impact goals, while also enhancing comfort, acoustic performance and flexibility across both private and communal living spaces. Designed for longevity and operational efficiency, the furniture plays an important role in reducing resource use and ongoing maintenance needs.

This award underscores the importance of a holistic approach to sustainability — extending beyond architecture and building systems into the interiors where students live, learn and connect. At GETC, we remain committed to delivering innovative and durable furniture solutions that align with the highest sustainability standards, ensuring every project contributes positively to both people and the planet.
